... (but not for the workers themselves) ...
... when I was young ...
... I dreamed of being able to turn all my various passions – or at least one of them – into a career ...
... I wanted to become an independent person ... unfortunately, our world doesn't work that way ...
... only very few can make a living with their skills and inclinations ...
... that applies worldwide mainly for poor people (especially for poor women) ...
... the majority of the world population needs (AT LEAST additionally) a “paying job” ... or even two or more ...
... to earn a living or even just to survive ... independence will always be a dream for these people ...
... myself included ... as this is especially true for most of the women worldwide ...
... that was probably the main reason in the past why my passion for photography alone ...
... was not enough to be professionally successful ... and I quickly realized ...
... that in the lion's den of established photographers I had absolutely no chance of getting ...
... even a tiny corner ... so pretty soon I gave up my futile efforts and only enjoyed photography privately ...
... the images themselves and the creative ideas have been always welcome though ... back then ...
... but none of the "top dogs" had ever granted me the tiniest chance of recognition I would have needed for a ...
... professional career ... neither in monetary terms nor in the form of a fair and helpful recommendation...
... at least the latter is essential if you start as a "nobody" ...
... born a nobody, you usually remain a nobody forever ...
... unless you get help from someone FAR more privileged than yourself ...
... this is proven to be true for the majority of all people in the world ...
